23 December 2008, HVMS Secures £3m Un-Metered Connections Contract
HVMS has secured a new two year contract worth in excess of £3M to provide Un-Metered Connections (UMC) for EDF Energy. Typically the specialist services include connection, disconnection and transfers to street lighting columns, feeder pillars, bus shelters, telephone kiosks, and advertising hoardings.
The contracts extends HVMS portfolio of Services to EDF Energy and is on the back of Asset Replacement Contracts worth £12M over 3 years. Un-metered Connections work accounts for around 25% of the total Connections work EDF Energy Networks undertakes.
Excellence in UMC
In support of OFGEM's published unmetered connections service level agreement, EDF Energy have been working to improve their performance in the provision of unmetered services through a project called 'Excellence in UMC'.
This project included a full review of the UMC services and processes including customer engagement, systems and reporting. As a result of the spotlight on performance of this work, HVMS were first benchmarked against other service providers and received glowing reports with a 98% success rate. “HVMS have helped ensure EDF Energy continues to meet its Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) with respect to UMC works and we are looking forward to expanding this work with HVMS under the new contract” said Nigel Hall, EDF Energy Connections Manager. HVMS are committed to work within strict KPI’s as set out in the OFGEM Service Level Agreement that include 60% of all work issued to be completed within 15 days and 90% of all work issued completed in 90 days. HVMS were kindly invited last month by EDF Energy to attend a Strategic Meeting with EDF Energy Senior Management and representatives from Local Authorities to roll out the new Service Level Agreement and to introduce HVMS to the Local Authorities as an EDF Energy Strategic partner for the Un-Metered Connections in the South East of England.
