Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer
Location: Swanley
Department: Private Networks
Hours: 08.00 – 17.00 Monday - Friday
Main Purpose: The purpose of this role is to provide electrical power engineering support for Project Managers, the Engineering Manager and the company as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide electrical engineering expertise throughout project life-cycle (tendering/procurement/design/installation/commissioning)
• Produce method statements for engineering installation works
• Supervise site installation and commissioning where required
• Carry out site testing of HV protection schemes
• Carry out testing and commissioning of transformers, switchgear and associated control schemes
• Provide staff training and development planning/support.
• Client interface/meetings
• Project implementation and management of site staff
• Technical/safety audits & inspections
• Provide bid/tender assistance and occasional sales support
• External audits input
Qualifications:
• Electrical Power Engineering qualification, minimum HNC level preferred (degree desirable)
• Computer literacy (including electrical design packages – Amtech or ERACS)
• Health and Safety (IOSH) (NEBOSH desirable but not essential)
Experience preferred:
Essential: Broad knowledge of power engineering plant and equipment, i.e. Transformers, Switchgear, cables, protection schemes. Responsibility for implementation (installation & commissioning) of large HV installations.
Desirable: DNO experience, (either directly employed or via a sub-contractor) or experience on sites with a large HV network. Operational switching (SAP/AP) experience on 11kV/33kV networks.
